BALTIMORE, MD – The third-ranked Johns Hopkins field hockey shutout visiting Stevenson behind a pair of third-quarter goals Wednesday night in non-conference action. The Blue Jays improve to 9-1 on the season while the Mustangs fall to 6-5.
After peppering the Stevenson goal, Hopkins finally broke through with two goals in less than five minutes to take control of the game. Junior
Emily Amsden intercepted the ball deep in the Mustangs' end and went in one-on-one with goalie Jordan Vradenburgh. Amsden drew the netminder out and then slotted the ball around her and into the open net with 9:09 to play in the quarter.
Sophomore
Grace Waldeck then doubled the Blue Jays' lead just four and a half minutes later. She dribbled through several Mustang defenders and then beat Vradenburgh from in-tight.
Hopkins outshot Stevenson, 28-4, and had a 15-2 advantage in corners. Sophomore

Alexis Loder split time in the cage and were not forced to make a save. Vradenburgh finished with 10 saves for the Mustangs.
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, October 7 at Haverford. The Centennial Conference contest is slated for a 1:00 pm start.
