BALTIMORE, MD -- Johns Hopkins University will induct nine new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame in ceremonies scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024. The nine-member class will be the 25th inducted since the Johns Hopkins Athletic Hall of Fame was formed in 1994 and raises the total number of members to 203.  
 
The group will be honored at induction ceremonies scheduled to take place at 6 pm in the Newton White Athletic Center on the Johns Hopkins campus.  Festivities will include a cocktail reception, the induction ceremony and a post-induction reception; the class will also be honored at the Johns Hopkins-Maryland men's lacrosse game at Homewood Field on Saturday, April 20.
 
Ticket information and other event-specific details will be announced in January 2024.
 
Below is a look at the nine individuals who comprise the 2024 Johns Hopkins Athletic Hall of Fame class of inductees:
 
Lyndsay Burton | Class of 2011
Women's Basketball

« Honorable Mention WBCA All-American as a senior (2011)
« Third Team D3hoops.com All-Region as a sophomore (2009) and first team as a senior (2011).
« Centennial Conference Player of the Year as a senior (2011).
« Three-time All-Centennial Conference selection with first team honors as a sophomore (2009) and senior (2011) and second team as a junior (2010).
« One of just five players in program history to earn All-CC three times and one of six to earn first team twice.
« Led the team in scoring in each of her final three seasons (15.1 / 12.8 / 15.8) and rebounding in each of her final two years (7.9 / 9.7).
« Concluded career ranked third in program history in points (1,396), second in field goal percentage (.524), third in field goals made (598), fourth in minutes played (2,917), tied for fourth in rebounds per game (7.9), fifth in rebounds (819) and eighth in points per game (13.4).
« Helped Johns Hopkins to a 22-6 record, an appearance in the Centennial title game and a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2011.
 
Tucker Durkin | Class of 2013
Men's Lacrosse

« Four-year starter and three-time All-American with second team honors as a sophomore in 2011 and first team honors as a junior and senior (2012, 2013).
« Two-time recipient of the William C. Schmeisser Award as the nation's top defenseman (2012, 2013).
« Remains one of just four two-time Schmeisser Award recipients in Johns Hopkins history and is the only Blue Jay in the last 30 years to win it twice.
« Started all 59 games he played in during his career and finished career with 127 ground balls and 65 caused turnovers.
« Graduated as JHU's career record-holder in caused turnovers (statistic added in 2009).
« Helped the Blue Jays to three trips to the NCAA Tournament with appearances in the 2011 and 2012 NCAA Quarterfinals.
 
Leah Horton | Class of 2009
Field Hockey

« Two-time NFHCA All-American with a second team selection as a junior and a first team selection as a senior.
« Earned Second Team All-America honors as a midfielder before moving to defense as a senior and earning First Team honors.
« Three-time NFHCA All-Region pick – grabbed second team honors as a sophomore and first team as a junior and senior.
« Remains one of just seven players in school history to twice earn All-America honors.
« One of just seven players in school history to earn All-Region honors three or more times.
« Four-time All-Centennial selection with second team selection as a freshman and sophomore and first team as a junior and senior.  One of just six Johns Hopkins players to earn All-Centennial four times.
« 2009 recipient of the Catherine P. Cramer Award as Johns Hopkins' top female athlete.
« Totaled 83 career points on 26 goals and a then school-record 31 assists.
« Became the first player in school history with more than 25 career goals and assists. Remains one of just two players to accomplish the feat.
« Helped Johns Hopkins to a four-year record of 55-28 with three Centennial Conference runner-up finishes.
« Led JHU to the NCAA Tournament as a junior and senior. 
 
Andrew Kase | Class of 2010
Football

« Third Team D3football.com All-American as a senior (2009) - first RB in school history to earn All-America honors.
« Two-time D3football.com All-Region … 2nd team in 2008 and first team in 2009.
« 2009 Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
« Three-time All-Centennial selection with second team honors as a sophomore (2007) and first team as a junior and senior (2008 & 2009).
« Graduated as Johns Hopkins' career leader in rushing yards (4,494), rushing attempts (931), rushing touchdowns (44), and 100-yard rushing games (25), No RB in school history is within 1,000 yards of his total.
« Tied for first in school history in career all-purpose yards (5,025).
« There have been seven, 1,000-yard rushing seasons in school history – Kase has three of the seven.
« Has the first (1,635/2008), third (1,540/2009) and sixth (1,009/2007) best single-season rushing totals in school history.
« Helped JHU to the 2009 Centennial Conference title and a run to the NCAA Quarterfinals.  Until 2018, that was the furthest JHU advanced in the NCAAs in football. 
« 2009 team posted a 10-3 record for the second, 10-win season in program history.
 
Dave Lofthus | Class of 2003
Men's Swimming

« Four-year standout on the Blue Jay swimming team (1999-2003)
« Helped Johns Hopkins to three straight top five finishes at the NCAA Championships as Hopkins placed third, second and second at the NCAAs when he competed.
« Runner-up finishes at the NCAA Championships in 2002 and 2003 were the highest finishes for JHU since 1980 and 1981 (also 2nd those years).
« Maxed out on All-America honors with 21 in the three years he competed at the NCAAs. The maximum number of events an individual can compete in at the NCAAs in any one year is seven (individual and relay events combined).
« Twenty-one All-America honors are tied for ninth most in JHU history. Ranked sixth when he graduated.
« Helped seven relay teams to top three finishes at the NCAAs, including six that finished as runner-up.
« Member of three school-record relay teams when he graduated.
« 2003 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient.
« First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American as a senior and Second Team as a junior.  One of just four men's swimmers in school history to earn Academic All-America honors at least twice.
« Earned the Dr. William Howard Award as a senior.  The Howard Award is presented to the senior athlete who has excelled both as a scholar and athlete (in essence, this is the top scholar-athlete in the senior class).
 
Dawn Nee | Class of 1991
Women's Lacrosse

« First Team All-American as a senior in 1991.  At the time, become just the second defender in program history to earn First Team All-America honors.
« First Team All-Region and First Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) as a senior in 1991.
« Had nine goals and two assists in her career.
« Totaled 39 ground balls and 23 draw controls over final two seasons.  Complete individual statistics not available for first two years of her career.
« Helped lead Johns Hopkins to a four-year record of 47-16 with four MAC West titles and two MAC Tournament Championships.
« Led Johns Hopkins to three appearances in the NCAA Tournament with the program's first-ever trip to the NCAA Semifinals in 1988.
« 14 wins in 1988 and 1989 (her first two years) were a then school record.
« Being inducted posthumously.
 
Laura Paulsen | Class of 2010
Women's Track & Cross Country

« Four-year standout on women's cross country and track teams.
« Qualified individually for the NCAA Cross Country Championships as a freshman and placed 52nd.
« Helped JHU to first three team qualifications for NCAA Cross Championships in 2007, 2008 and 2009.  Team placed 29th, 13th and 7th at those three championships.
« After 52nd-place finish as a freshman at NCAA Cross Country Championships, placed 39th, 31st and 37th at the next three Championships.  Her 31st-place finish earned her All-America honors (top 35 finishers were All-Americans).
« Four-time All-Centennial in Cross Country with second, third, first and second-place finishes as the CC Championships. « Led JHU to the first two of what is now 15 straight CC XC titles.
« Six-time Centennial Conference track individual champion:
- Indoor CC Titles:  Mile (2007), 5k (2010)
- Outdoor CC Titles:  10K (2009, 2010), 1500 (2009, 2010)
- Member of 2007 & 2009 Centennial Champion 4x400 indoor relay teams
« Earned Indoor Track All-America honors in 2009 in the Mile and DMR
« 2009 & 2010 USTFCCCA Mideast Indoor Runner of the Year
« 2010 All-American in outdoor track in the 5,000 (6th-place finish)
« Led Johns Hopkins to the first of what is now 13 straight Centennial Outdoor Track titles.
 
Rob Sanzillo | Class of 2007 (Deferring Induction Until 2026)
Baseball

« Standout performer as a catcher for the Blue Jay baseball team from 2004-07.
« Third Team ABCA All-American as a senior in 2007.
« Two-time ABCA All-Region selection with third team honors as junior (2006) and first team as a senior (2007).
« 2007 Centennial Conference Player of the Year and a First Team All-Centennial selection that season.
« Ended career with a .373 batting average.  Collected 15 home runs, 101 RBIs and 117 runs scored.
« .373 career batting average is believed to be the second-highest among players who were primarily catchers during their career.
« Helped Johns Hopkins to a four-year record of 138-33 (.807) with a pair of Centennial Conference titles (2004, 2007) and two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
« 2004 team began the season 33-0 and advanced to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional title game.
« 2004 team posted a remarkable 40-4 record that included a 33-game season-opening winning streak.  The team became ranked #1 in the nation midway through the season.  In the process, they became the first Division III Johns Hopkins team (any sport) to be ranked number one in the nation.
« Team advanced to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional title game in 2007 as well.
 
Erica Suter | Class of 2012
Women's Soccer

« Second Team NSCAA All-American and First Team D3soccer.com All-American as a senior in 2011.
« Four-time NSCAA All-Region selection with third team honors as a freshman and first team honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.
« One of just five players in program history to earn all-region four times.
« Four-time All-Centennial Conference selection (1st Team / 2nd Team / 1st Team / 1st Team).
« 2011 Centennial Conference Player of the Year.
« 2011 CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American.
« Graduated as Johns Hopkins' career leader in points (141), goals (55) and assists (31).  Still ranks second in all three categories.
« Set then school-record with 53 points as a senior in 2011 (19g, 15a).
« Only player in school history with 15 goals and 15 assists in one season (2011 / 19g, 15a).
« Helped JHU to four straight Centennial Conference titles, four trips to the NCAA Tournament, two runs to the NCAA Quarterfinals and a 77-10-5 record.
