BALTIMORE, MD – The eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins men's tennis team eased past visiting Muhlenberg, 9-0, in Centennial Conference action Sunday. The Blue Jays win their fifth straight as they improve to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in the conference. The Mules fall to 2-8 on the season and 0-7 in the Centennial.
Hopkins lost a total of just two games in the shutout win.
Andrew Tran and
Thomas Yu won 8-0 at first doubles over Noah Katz and Gabriel Tamarkin.
George Jiang and
James Yu won by the same score at second versus Josh Benson and Isaac Shulman. And at third,
Joe DeMarco and
Jonathan Zhang also won by shutout against Derek George and Roy Hsu.
Mason Liu won without losing a game versus Tamarkin at first.
Marco Azar did the same against Katz at second. Tran also won 6-0, 6-0 in his match versus Shulman at third.
Zahari Stoimenov beat Benson 6-1, 6-0 at fourth.
Karan Belday shutout George at fifth and
Nick Charanjiva won 6-1, 6-0 over Matthew Wagner at sixth.
Hopkins wraps up the regular season on Saturday, April 22 with a pair of road matches at Ursinus and Mary Washington.
