KANSAS CITY, MO – The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team is ranked seventh in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Preseason Poll it was announced recently. This is the Blue Jays' highest preseason ranking since 2007, when JHU was also ranked seventh.
Hopkins went 15-1-8 and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2022. The Blue Jays' lone loss came by just a single goal in the regular season finale. Hopkins then went unbeaten in the final seven games of the season, falling in a shootout in the quarterfinals at fourth-ranked Stevens.
This is the fourth time the Blue Jays have been ranked in the top-10 in the USC Preseason Poll, and the first time since 2010. Two of Hopkins' 2023 opponents are ranked in the preseason poll – Mary Washington (#4) and Franklin & Marshall (#18).
Hopkins opens the season on Friday, September 1 versus NC Wesleyan at the Mary Washington Tournament.
