Box Score 1 BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's tennis team opened the fall portion of its schedule at the Towson Hidden Dual Tournament this past weekend. JHU faced teams from host Towson, Mount St. Mary's and Delaware State.
The Blue Jays opened the weekend against the Tigers, picking up a doubles' win and a pair of singles wins. Graduate student

Sophia Kim beat Lea Kosanovic and Mya Spencer 7-5, 7-5 in the lone doubles' match. Sophomore
Jay Xiao rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (3) win over Olivia Rothfeld. Junior
Bea Manjon beat Erin Gray 6-4, 6-1. Freshman
Aubrey Zhou lost to Sania Suchinsky 6-4, 6-1 while junior
Catharina Ausfahl fell to Ashira Murray 6-0, 6-1.
On Saturday, Hopkins took on Delaware State in a pair of matches. In the first match, JHU earned a pair of singles' wins. Graduate student
Mary Beth Hurley beat Noelani Lui 6-4, 7-6. Freshman
Samantha Wang defeated Ja'Nayah Pickens 6-0, 6-0. Freshman
Sydney Langer dropped a tough three-setter to Klaudija Lisovska 7-6 (3), 4-6, 1-0 (6). In doubles, freshman

Kamila Wong fell to Daria Jula and Clara Kuehnle 6-2, 6-3. Junior

Audrey Wijono lost to Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung and Eva Golembiovski.
In the second match, Hopkins took the doubles point and won two of the four singles' matches. Xiao and Zhou paired to beat Kaitlyn Black and Isyss Jones, 8-0. In singles, Kim took an 8-5 win over Au-Yeung while Chang beat Jula 8-3. Kuehnle won 8-1 over Ausfahl and Golembiovski defeated Manjon, 8-2.
Hopkins wrapped up the day against Mount St. Mary's. The Blue Jays won both doubles' matches and two of three singles' matches. Hurley and Langer defeated Sofia Kostirko and Margherita Trolese, 8-4. Melvin and Wong took an 8-0 win over Stephanie Huseby and Emma Kaden. Wang earned an 8-6 win over Ana Alvarez-Storni and Hsieh beat Polina Burkhard, 8-0. Wijono lost a close 8-6 decision to Adriana Barney.
Hopkins is back on the court for the ITA Southeast Regional September 23-25 at Mary Washington.
