Johns Hopkins to Host NCAA First and Second Rounds

BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament this weekend at Homewood Field. JHU will take on Penn State Behrend on Saturday, November 16 with Washington & Lee and Otterbein squaring off in the other game.

Hopkins (12-3-4) is making its 20th NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth consecutive. The Blue Jays earned the Centennial Conference's automatic bid to the tournament after winning its 11th title on Sunday. The Blue Jays faced eight teams (10 games) that made the 64-team field and went 5-2-3 in those games.

Penn State Behrend (10-6-4) earned an automatic berth to the tournament after topping Alfred State in penalty kicks to win the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference title. The Lions are riding a 10-game unbeaten streaking entering the tournament and have allowed just three goals during that stretch. Penn State Behrend is making its ninth tournament appearance and first since 2019.

Washington & Lee (13-3-4) earned an automatic bid after winning the Old Dominion Athletic Conference title. The Generals are unbeaten in their last 16 games and are in the tournament for the ninth straight season. W&L has outscored its opponents 37-10 during the 16-game unbeaten streak.

Otterbein (12-6-3) beat Mount Union in the Ohio Athletic Conference title game to punch its ticket to the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals are in the tournament for the second straight year and ninth time overall. Otterbein is unbeaten in its last six games and avenged its three regular season conference losses in the tournament en route to the title.
