Francis Meyer has been named a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American it was announced yesterday.
Meyer is the 31
st Blue Jay to earn All-America honors from United Soccer Coaches and the ninth under head coach
Craig Appleby. He is the first JHU midfielder to earn the honor since 2019. He helped Johns Hopkins win in its second straight and 11
th overall Centennial Conference title and a trip to the NCAA Second Round.
Meyer is a three-time all-region selection and was named the 2024 Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year last month. He was a standout in the Blue Jay midfield in each of his four seasons. He played in 85 games and started 75 while totaling 10 goals and 10 assists, including going 5-of-5 on penalty kicks.
During Meyer's career, Hopkins posted an 0.84 goals against average and 41 shutouts. This season, he led the Blue Jays six goals and 18 points and ranked second with six assists. He is tied for fourth in program history in career games played.
