CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Johns Hopkins women's swim team turned in five more NCAA cuts and seven career-best swims on the third and final day of the Cavalier Invitational Sunday.
Meg Susil led off the final day in the 1650 Free as she placed fourth in 17:14.95. Her time is both a career-best and NCAA B qualifying time.
Cameron Roche then took 10
th place in the 200 Back with an NCAA B time of 2:02.78.
Elizabeth Cohen led a group of seven Blue Jays in the 100 Free. She finished in 10
th place with a swim of 52.10.
Makenzie Higgins followed just eight-hundredths of a second later for 11
th place.
Kimberly Lan also posted a career best as she touched in 52.70 for 13
th place.
Alex Watson placed 14
th with a finals swim of 52.83, while her prelim time of 52.10 is a career best.
Claire Han took 16
th place (52.94), followed by
Caroline Storen in 19
th (53.18) and
Hannah Fu in 24
th (54.00). Cohen (52.07), Watson (52.10) and Storen (52.49) had career-best swims in the prelims.
Taylor Rohovit led the way for the Blue Jays in the 200 Breast with a fourth-place finish and an NCAA B time of 2:19.10.
Michelle Liu touched in 2:20.52 for fifth place. Her time was both a NCAA B time and a career-best.
Rachel Davis finished in sixth place (2:21.22) and
Katherine Chelus placed 10
th (2:25.36).
Ayden Min then placed 10
th in the 200 Fly in 2:10.34.
In the 400 Free Relay, Hopkins went one and two and turned in an NCAA B qualifying time. The team of Cohen, Higgins, Watson and Liu combined for a time of 3:28.49 to win the event.
Alia Basler, Fu, Han and Storen finished in 3:35.46.
Kate Petitt also posted a career-best swim in the 100 Fly time trial with a swim of 56.48.
Hopkins wraps up the regular season on Saturday, February 17 with the annual Blue Jay Invitational. The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start.
