LANCASTER, PA – Following another impressive outing at last weekend's Centennial Conference Championships, the Johns Hopkins women's track & field team had several athletes garner All-Conference recognition.
Lauren Phillips and
Victoria Kadiri headlined the awards after being named the Track and Field Athletes of the Year for the second straight season, with
Bobby Van Allen's staff also earning the Coaching Staff of the Year for the second year running.
Phillips, the 2022 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year and 2023 Track Athlete of the Year, is now a two-time winner of the latter after another historic season on the track. The junior's accolades include running the second-fastest 200 time in program history, third-fastest 400 in program history and second-fastest 4x400 relay in program history, all of which led the Centennial. In last weekend's Conference Championships, the junior finished second in the 60-meter sprint, first in the 200 and was a part of the first place-finishing 4x400 team.
Kadiri has become synonymous with the Field Athlete of the Year award, earning the honor for the third season in a row. The Centennial Conference Championships' Most Outstanding Track and Field Athlete, the senior won gold in the 60-meter sprint, 60-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump, adding a second-place finish in the high jump and third-place finish in the shot put. Her time of 7.65 seconds in the 60-meter sprint and distance of 12.35 meters in the triple jump also both set new Centennial Conference records.
After leading his side to the second-highest point total in Championship history and the program's 13
th straight Confernece title,
Bobby Van Allen and his staff were named Coaching Staff of the Year.
In total the Blue Jays had 19 All-Conference First Team selections. Joining Phillips (200 and 4x400) and Kadiri (Long Jump, Triple Jump, 60m, 60H) were
Annie Huang (800), Harrineee Senthilkumar (Mile),
Sara Stephenson (3000),
Lianne Saussy,
Lorna Arcese and Anna Zaekse as a part of the 4x400 team,
Lily Sheth,
Isis Diaz,
Lily Tremba and
Diana Valentini as a part of the 4x800 team,
Bianca Skelton (Pole Vault) and
Erika Ezumba (Shot Put and Weight Throw). Hopkins' 19 First Teamers is the second-highest mark in program history behind only 2022's 20 honorees.
The Jays added 12 Second-Team athletes in Phillips (60m),
Mackenzie Setton (800 and Mile),
Isabelle Nobili (3000),
Aisling Callahan (5000), Kadiri (High Jump), Sarah-Caulley Soto (Pole Vault),
Sara Bartlett (Triple Jump) and
Sarah Conant, Valentini,
Eleni Alvarez and
Adriana Catalano as members of the DMR team.
Rounding out Hopkins' All-Conference selections were
Emma Kothari (800), Catalano (Mile), Callahan (3000),
Jamie Stelnik (5000),
Abigail Lovelace (High Jump and Pentathlon),
Cassidy Brown (Pole Vault) and Kadiri (Shot Put), who all earned Honorable Mention honors.
Natalie Boquist was awarded the Blue Jays' spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
