Makenzie Higgins and junior
Taylor Rohovit have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America team it was announced today. Higgins and Rohovit were both named to the second team.
This is the second straight year and fifth time overall that the Blue Jays have produced multiple CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans in one year. Hopkins has now produced 17 CSC Academic All-Americans, including 10 under head coach
Scott Armstrong.
Higgins is a Dean's List student majoring in biomedical engineering. She is a two-time All-American, including earning Second Team honors in the 400 Free Relay at the 2024 NCAA Championships. She has participated in the NCAA Championships in each of the last three years (no championship in 2021). Higgins volunteers at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center as well as the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital. She also volunteers with the Henderson-Hopkins' Food Distribution Program. She was an NIH Summer Intern last summer and was a research assistant at The Bunting Blaustein Cancer Research Building.
Rohovit is a Dean's List student majoring in computer science. She is a nine-time All-American, including three selections at this year's championships. She is a three-time NCAA Championship participant and holds Johns Hopkins freshman records in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast and 400 IM. She also boasts four of the top-10 times in JHU history in the 100 Breast and six of the top-10 in the 200 Breast. Rohovit was a High Performance Computing Systems Engineering Intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory last summer. She was also a research assistant at the UCSF Helen Diller Cancer Research Lab in 2022.
