Phillips Tabbed Centennial Track Athlete of the Week

LANCASTER, PA – Following an impressive weekend at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational, Johns Hopkins women's track and field's Lauren Phillips has been named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week, as released by the conference this morning.

Phillips opened her weekend in the 400 in which her time of 55.72 won the event and ranks as the fifth-fastest time in Division III this season. The junior then followed that up with an even more impressive feat in the 200, setting a program record and further solidifying herself as one of the top sprinters in the country.

Facing off against Division I competition, Phillips took first in the event with her time of 24.37, breaking her own program record from a season ago and giving the junior the third-quickest time in Division III to conclude an action-filled weekend.

Phillips and the Blue Jays return this Thursday to compete at the Penn Relays in their final tune-up before Centennials in May.
