BALTIMORE, MD – Mason Hofmann has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) East/S&R Sport Newcomer of the Week for his performance against 20^th-ranked George Washington. This is Hofmann's third newcomer of the week honor and fifth for a Blue Jay this season.
 
In the Blue Jays' only game of the week, Hofmann totaled a career-high six goals and tied his career-high with seven points in a tough 19-16 loss to the Colonials. He leads Hopkins with 39 goals and ranks second with 51 points. He also ranks fourth in steals with 17.
 
Hopkins opens MPSF play this weekend at Penn State Behrend. JHU will take on Conn College and host Penn State Behrend on Saturday, October 18. Hopkins will then face Austin and Washington & Jefferson on Sunday.
