Phillip Long has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) East/Delfina Player of the Week.
Hopkins has produced the league player of the week six times this season and this is Long's first selection.
Long totaled 10 goals, five assists, four drawn exclusions, two steals and seven blocks to lead Hopkins to four MPSF wins this past weekend. He opened the weekend with four goals, three assists and one drawn exclusion at Wheaton. Long followed that with two points (1g, 1a) and one block versus Washington & Jefferson. On Sunday, he scored four goals, including the 100
th of his career, to go with two drawn exclusions, one steal and three blocks versus Austin. Long closed out the weekend with two points (1g, 1a), one drawn exclusion, one steal and three blocks in a one-goal win over Augustana.
Long ranks third on the team in points (64), fourth in goals (42) and second in blocks (15).
Hopkins closes out the regular season on Sunday, November 16 against Salem.
