Luke Mendelsohn has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) East/S&R Sport Newcomer of the Week it was announced today. This is the seventh time this season that Johns Hopkins has produced the newcomer of the week.

Mendelsohn sparked Johns Hopkins' 16-15 regular-season-ending win against Salem University as he totaled seven goals, including the sudden-victory overtime game-winner, two assists, five steals, and two drawn exclusions in the victory. The seven goals and nine points are both career highs for Mendelsohn.

Mendelsohn pushed his season totals to 50 goals and 36 assists for 86 points with his effort against the Tigers. He currently ranks second on the team in goals and points and third in assists. His 86 points rank third in school history by a freshman, while his 50 goals rank ninth.

Johns Hopkins will return to action on Friday, November 21 when the Blue Jays travel to Stanford for the MPSF Tournament. The fifth-seeded Blue Jays will open play in the tournament against fourth-seeded Cal.
