Bourdo Named Defensive Player of the Year, Jays Earn 19 All-Centennial Selections

Blue Jays Produce School-Record 19 All-Centennial Selections

LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins football team produced the Defensive Player of the Year and had a school-record 18 players earn 19 spots on the 2025 All-Centennial Conference Football Team it was announced today.  This is the fourth time in five years that a Johns Hopkins player has been named the Defensive Player of the Year and the 12th time overall, while the 19 selections are two more than the previous record of 17 (2015); this is the fifth consecutive year at least 15 Blue Jays have earned All-Centennial honors.
 
Johns Hopkins' 19 All-CC selections include eight first team honorees, seven second team selections and four honorable mention nods.
 
In addition to JHU's 19 All-Centennial selections, senior Larue Linder was also named to the 2025 Centennial Conference Football All-Sportsmanship Team.
 
Bourdo Named Defensive Player of the Year
Senior defensive back Carson Bourdo was named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Centennial honors for the second consecutive season.  Bourdo counts 38 tackles, including 3.0 tackles for loss and one sack, five pass breakups and two interceptions to his credit this season.  His efforts this season have boosted his career totals to 154 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, 19 pass breakups and seven interceptions.
 
In addition to Bourdo, Johns Hopkins' 18 additional All-Centennial selections include:
 
Chase Alley (Jr. • P)
• Honorable Mention All-Centennial Conference.
• Making first appearance on the All-Centennial Team.
• Averaging 43.0 yards on 20 punts this season with four kicks above 50 yards and five dropped inside the 20-yard line.
• Would rank among top 10 in the nation in punting average, but doesn't have enough attempts to qualify.
• Seventh JHU punter to earn All-Centennial honors and the first since 2018.
 
Garrett Brophy (Sr. • OL)
• First Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Earns All-Centennial honors for the fourth time in his career (2nd, 1st, 2nd, 1st).
• Now one of six players in school history to earn All-Centennial honors four times or more.
• Helping lead the way for an offense averaging 42.0 points and 462.8 yards per game.
• Along with Michael Nwosu, Albee Cornachio and Charlie Pearson, selection boosts JHU's all-time total number of All-Centennial offensive linemen to 94.
 
Albee Cornachio (So. • OL/G)
• Honorable Mention All-Centennial Conference.
• Making first appearance on the All-Centennial Team.
• In first full season as a starter and helping lead the way for an offense averaging 42.0 points and 462.8 yards per game.
• Along with Michael Nwosu, Charlie Pearson and Garrett Brophy, selection boosts JHU's all-time total number of All-Centennial offensive linemen to 94.
 
Cole Crotty (So. • WR)
• First Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making third appearance on the All-CC Team (1st, HM, 1st).
• Leads the team in receptions (63), receiving yards (1,105) and touchdown receptions (11).
• 1,105 receiving yards this season ranks seventh on JHU's single-season list, while 11 TD receptions are tied for ninth.
• 24th First Team All-Centennial wide receiver in program history.
 
Bay Harvey (Gr. • QB)
• First Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making second appearance on the All-CC Team after earning second team honors in 2023.
• Has thrown for 2,461 yards and 23 TDs against just three INTs this season.
• Second on the team in rushing with 395 yards and six touchdowns on the year.
• Ninth First Team All-Centennial Conference quarterback in program history.
 
Carter Hogg (Sr. • DB)
• Honorable Mention All-Centennial Conference.
• Making first appearance on the All-Centennial Team.
• Ranks fourth on the team in tackles with 41 and has 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, four pass breakups, one interception and one fumble recovery to his credit this season.
 
Josh Moore (So. • RS/WR)
• Second Team All-Centennial Conference as a return specialist.
• Honorbale Mention All-Centennial Conference as a wide receiver.
• Fifth player in program history to earn All-Centennial honors at two different positions in the same year.
• Averaging 29.6 yards on 18 kickoff returns (532 yards) with a long return of 77 yards.
• Third on the team in receiving with 35 receptions for 482 yards and three touchdowns.
 
Xavier Newell (Sr. • DL)
• Second Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making first appearance on the All-Centennial Team.
• Counts 31 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and one pass breakup to his credit this season.
• Along with Isaac Urquidi and Will Seibert, selection boosts JHU's all-time total number of All-Centennial defensive linemen to 72.
 
Michael Nwosu (Sr. • OL/T)
• First Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making fourth straight appearance on the All-Centennial Team after garnering second (2022) and first team (2023, 2024) honors the last three years.
• Now one of six players in school history to earn All-Centennial honors four times or more.
• 19th player in program history to earn First Team All-Centennial honors three times.
• Helping lead the way for an offense averaging 42.0 points and 462.8 yards per game.
• Has started all 48 games in his career.
• Along with Charlie Pearson, Albee Cornachio and Garrett Brophy, selection boosts JHU's all-time total number of All-Centennial offensive linemen to 94.
 
Charlie Pearson (Sr. • OL/T)
• Second Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making second appearance on the All-Centennial Team after grabbing honorable mention status as a junior.
• Helping lead the way for an offense averaging 42.0 points and 462.8 yards per game.
• Along with Michael Nwosu, Albee Cornachio and Garrett Brophy, selection boosts JHU's all-time total number of All-Centennial offensive linemen to 94.
 
Geoff Schroeder (Sr. • RB)
• First Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making second appearance on the team after earning second team honors in 2024.
• Leads the team and ranks second in the Centennial in rushing with 1,000 yards and leads the team and the CC in rushing (18) and overall (20) touchdowns.
• 1,000 rushing yards this season rank eighth in school history, while 18 rushing TDs are tied for fourth.
• Johns Hopkins' 18th all-time First Team All-Centennial Conference running back.
 
Jack Schondelmayer (Sr. • DB)
• Second Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making first appearance on the All-Centennial Team.
• Ranks third on the team in tackles with 45 and counts five pass breakups and three interceptions to his credit as well.
• Has 140 tackles, 11 pass breakups and eight interceptions in his career.
 
Will Seibert (Jr. • DL)
• First Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Make the jump to the first team after grabbing second team honors last season.
• Ranks fifth on the team in tackles with 39 with 8.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and one fumble recovery to his credit this season.
• Along with Isaac Urquidi and Xavier Newell, selection boosts JHU's all-time total number of All-Centennial defensive linemen to 72.
 
Jack Smith (Sr. • LB)
• Second Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making first appearance on the All-Centennial Team.
• Ranks second on the team in tackles (62) and has 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, one pass breakup and one blocked kick to his credit.
 
Claude Strnad (Jr. • LS)
• Second Team All-Centennial Conference.
• This is the first season the Centennial Conference has designed spots on the All-CC Team for long snappers.
• Handles all long-snapping duties for the Blue Jays (punts, field goals, extra-points).
 
Browning Trainer (Jr. • LB)
• Second Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Making first appearance on the All-Centennial Team.
• Leads the team in tackles with 71 and has 5.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery to his credit on the the year.
• Along with Browning Trainer, selection boosts JHU's all-time total number of All-Centennial linebackers to 60.
 
Isaac Urquidi (Sr. • DL)
• First Team All-Centennial Conference.
• Earns third straight All-CC nod after earning second (2023) and first (2024) team honors the last two years. 
• Counts 30 tackles, including 9.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass breakup to his credit this season.
• Now has137 tackles, including 34.5 for losses and 13.5 sacks in his career.
• Along with Will Seibert and Xavier Newell, selection boosts JHU's all-time total number of All-Centennial defensive linemen to 72.
 
Johns Hopkins (9-1) will open play in the 2025 NCAA Division III Playoffs on Saturday, November 29 when the Blue Jays welcome the winner of the first-round game between Cortland St. (8-2) and Springfield (8-2) to Homewood Field.
