BALTIMORE, MD – The third-ranked Johns Hopkins football team did its part to ensure next Saturday's regular-season-ending game at Franklin & Marshall would be a winner-take-all Centennial Conference affair as the Blue Jays capped the home portion of their 2025 schedule by topping McDaniel, 42-0, at Homewood Field Saturday afternoon.
Johns Hopkins bumps its record to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the Centennial with today's win. For its part, Franklin & Marshall setup next week's de facto conference title game with a 31-24 win at Carnegie Mellon on Saturday.
Against the Green Terror, the Blue Jays scored 14 points in each of the first two quarters and then tacked on single touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters to fuel their 24th consecutive victory in the series.
A pair of Geoff Schroeder touchdown runs – from five and six yards out – capped first-quarter touchdown drives that covered 43 and 72 yards for the Blue Jays.
While the offense was busy scoring on four of its first six drive of the game, the Blue Jay defense forced five McDaniel punts, came up with an interception and added a fumble recovery on seven Green Terror first-half possessions.
Johns Hopkins turned a Browning Trainer fumble recovery into its third score of the game as the Blue Jays took over at the McDaniel 42-yard line and senior Bay Harvey connected with junior Robby Enright five plays later from 19 yards out to extend the lead to 21-0 early in the second quarter.
That lead held until late in the period when the Blue Jays needed just six plays to go 43 yards and capped the drive with a three-yard John Bechtle touchdown run to account for a 28-0 lead at the half.
Johns Hopkins ate nearly five minutes off the third-quarter clock with a half-opening, eight-play, 74-yard drive that Harvey and Enright polished off with an 11-yard scoring play.
The Blue Jay defense picked up where it left off in the first half as McDaniel was forced to punt on its first four possessions of the second half and lost a fumble on its fifth and final possession after the break. In all, 12 McDaniel possessions in the game ended with nine punts and three turnovers and none of the 12 drives lasted longer than six plays or covered more than 23 yards.
Johns Hopkins closed the scoring with just under 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter when sophomore Luke Baker connected with freshman Alex Orecchio on a 48-yard touchdown pass. Baker hit Orecchio in-stride across the middle of the field and Orecchio weaved his way through traffic to the end zone for the first touchdown of his career. It was also Baker's first touchdown pass as a Blue Jay.
With the wins by both Johns Hopkins and Franklin & Marshall, the winner of next week's game between the two teams in Lancaster will earn the league's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Playoffs. Kickoff is set for 1 pm at F&M on Saturday, November 15.

• Johns Hopkins rolled up exactly 500 yards of total offense on 69 offensive plays with 206 yards rushing and 294 yards passing.
• Harvey was 16-of-23 for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Cole Crotty (7-99) and Enright (4-54-2) were his two favorite targets.
• Schroeder rushed for 79 yards and the two scores and Melik Frost added 74 yards on just eight carries to lead the ground game.
• Carson Bourdo led the way for the Blue Jays defensively with seven tackles, including two tackles for loss and one sack.
• The Blue Jay defense totaled 10 tackles for losses, three sacks, two fumble recoveries and one interception (Jack Schondelmayer) and notched its first shutout since topping McDaniel (35-0) in the 2024 regular-season-finale.

• Jayden Booker was 15-of-23 for 106 yards on the day. Grayson Wendel (5-35) and Cordae James (4-43) were on the receiving end of nine of Booker's 15 completions.
• James (29) and Jacob Wagner (27) combined for 56 rushing yards on 13 carries, but 13 other rushing attempts for the Green Terror totaled -12 yards.
• Kendrick Williams and Malachi Murphy totaled seven tackles apiece for the Green Terror. Murphy added a pass breakup and a fumble recovery that ended a Blue Jay drive at the Green Terror one-yard line.

• The Blue Jays are now 51-5 in the their last 56 regular season games in the month of November.
• Harvey's 16 completions bump his career total 507; he is just the sixth quarterback in program history with 500 or more completions.
• Harvey moved into third place on JHU's career passing yardage list (6,776). He is also now tied for third in career touchdown passes (68).
• Today marked the 85 time in program history that JHU has rolled up 500 yards or more of total offense; the Blue Jays are 83-2 all-time when they amass 500+ yards.
