LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins sophomore
Irene Sanchez Burgueno has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Blue Jays to a pair of victories last week it was announced today. This is the first time in her career that Sanchez Burgueno has been honored by the Centennial Conference.

Sanchez Burgueno helped Johns Hopkins to the two wins that helped lock up the number two seed in this week's Centennial Conference Tournament as she had a hand in three of the Blue Jays' four goals in the two games. Â She scored once in a 2-0 win against Dickinson and then added one goal and one assist in a 2-0 win at Ursinus in the final game of the regular season.

With her two goals and one assist last week, Sanchez Burgueno now ranks second on the team in goals (6), tied for third in assists (4) and third in points (16) this season; two of her six goals this season have been game-winners.

Johns Hopkins (13-4-1, 8-2 CC) locked up the number two seed in this week's Centennial Tournament with last week's two victories and will host a semifinal game on Friday, November 7 (6 pm). The Blue Jays will play either Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall or Gettysburg. If Dickinson wins its first-round game against Washington College, the Blue Jays will host the Red Devils. If Dickinson loses to Washington College, the Blue Jays will play the winner of the F&M-Gettysburg first-round game.
