COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Johns Hopkins graduate student Jenna Halpin has been named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Region V Player of the Year it was announced today. Halpin becomes the fifth Blue Jay to earn the award; all five have come since 2018 and four of the five have been selected since 2021.
Halpin adds the NFHCA Regional Player of the Year award to an already impressive list of honors from the recently-completed 2025 season. She was named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year and  was a First Team All-Centennial selection for the second consecutive year. In addition, Halpin was also a First Team NFHCA All-Region honoree for the second time in her career.
A starter in all 24 games this season, Halpin totaled five goals and a team-high 13 assists for 23 points to finish third on the team in scoring. Her 13 assists also led the Centennial Conference and rank as the fourth-best total in program history. She finishes her career with 11 goals and 24 assists for 46 points; her 24 career assists are tied for fourth in school history.
Halpin helped guide the Blue Jays to a 22-2 record, the Centennial Conference title and a runner-up finish in the NCAA Tournament this season. The runner-up finish is the fourth in five years for the Blue Jays, while the Centennial Conference title was the seventh straight for Johns Hopkins.
Along with the five other NFHCA Regional Players of the Year, Halpin is now a candidate for  National Player of the Year honors. The National Player of the Year will be announced on December 18.
