BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins field hockey team earned numerous academic honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) it was announced recently. Hopkins earned National Academic Team honors, 24 Blue Jays were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad and six were named Scholars of Distinction.
The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the academic year. The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the academic year. The Blue Jays have now produced 215 national academic squad selections and 41 Scholars of Distinction under head coach
Jane Wells.
Hopkins' 24 selections to the academic squad rank are tied for fourth in the nation this season. In addition, the six Scholars of Distinction are the tied for the third most in program history. JHU has also earned NFHCA National Academic Squad honors in each of the last 24 years.
The NFHCA National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the academic year. Hopkins had an impressive 3.71 team GPA in the fall of 2025.
