CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Johns Hopkins turned in three top-10 times in program history and 10 NCAA B qualifying times on day two of the Cavalier Invitational.
 
Hopkins opened the night with a one-two finish in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of 
Aden Li, 
Jonathan Wang, 
Avery Clapp and 
Christian Mayr finished in 1:28.56. The time is the fifth fastest in program history and is an NCAA B time. 
Bryce Lloyd, 
Mitchell List, 
Jonik Surprenant and 
Jay Heymann took second with a time of 1:32.81.
 
The Blue Jays then went four-five in the 100 Fly, with just two-hundredths of a second separating them. 
Rad Couture finished in a career-best 49.22 for fourth, followed closely by Li. JHU followed that by going second through fifth in the 400 IM. 
Matthew Hartshorn and 
Joe Castagno finished in a tie for second as they touched in 3:54.16. Their time is the fifth fastest in JHU history, and for Castagno is a career high. 
Larkin Helman finished in fourth in a career-best 3:57.04 and 
Will Dunlap followed in 3:57.62, also a career high. All four Blue Jays times were also NCAA B times.
 
In the 200 Free, 
Daniel Byrnes took fourth place with a career-best and NCAA B swim of 1:39.06. Lloyd finished in sixth place with a time of 1:40.71. Wang then took second place in the 100 Breast, clocking in with a career-best and NCAA B time of 54.75. Clapp and 
Dylan Jewett went back-to-back in the 100 Back with NCAA B and career-best swims. Clapp touched in 48.08 for fourth and Jewett in 48.92 for fifth.
 
JHU then turned in a time of 6:38.75, an NCAA B time, in the 800 Free Relay by the team of Helman, Byrnes, 
Josiah March and Heymann. In addition, Helman's lead-off leg of 1:40.73 is a career best.
 
Hopkins closes out the weekend at the Cavalier Invitational on Saturday, February 8.
