INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Johns Hopkins turned in a pair of All-America swims and broke a school record on Thursday in the second day of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The Blue Jays sit 22
nd place with 20 points.
Matthew Hartshorn took down his own school record en route to a second-place finish in the consolation final of the 400 IM. He shaved nearly 1.6 seconds off his prelim time to finish in 3:52.63. It is his third All-America honor in the event. Hartshorn now boasts the four fastest times, and seven of the top 10, in JHU history in the 400 IM.
Alessandro Pereira finished in eighth place in the consolation final with a finals swim of 3:57.52. This is the first time since 2023 and fourth time in the last six years that JHU has had multiple All-Americans in the 400 IM.
Day three of the NCAA Championships begins with the prelims of the 200 Medley Relay.
