CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Johns Hopkins turned in seven NCAA B qualifying times in seven events on day two of the Cavalier Invitational.
In the first event of the night, the Blue Jays took first and second in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of
Jaya Veerapaneni,
Michelle Liu,
Ken Lee and
Elizabeth Cohen took first. Their time of 1:43.00 is an NCAA B time.
Anna Miler,
Katherine Chelus,
Alia Basler and
Alex Watson followed in second in 1:47.37.
Lee then placed sixth in the 100 Fly with a career-best and NCAA B swim of 55.57.
Rachel Davis and
Nyah Stahl went back-to-back in the 400 IM. Davis took eighth with an NCAA B time of 4:28.55 and Stahl touched in 4:30.99 for ninth.
Melissa Er led the Jays with an 11
th-place finish in the 200 Free. She posted an NCAA B time of 1:51.58, just one-hundredth of a second out of 10
th and four-hundredths of a second out of eighth.
Taylor Rohovit finished in 1:52.18 for 13
th place. Her time is a career best and was just one-hundredth of a second shy of B time.
Chelus led Hopkins with a 12
th-place finish and a swim of 1:07.38 in the 100 Breast. Lee and Veerapaneni finished in sixth and seventh in the 100 Back, both posting NCAA B and career-best times. Lee finished in 55.92, while Veerapaneni clocked in at 56.05. Liu closed out the night with the 100 Breast time trial. She swam a 1:03.39, the ninth-fastest time in school history and an NCAA B time.
