GREENSBORO, NC – The Johns Hopkins men's swim team earned an All-America finish in the 400 Medley Relay and broke a freshman record on day one of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday.
 
Hopkins ended the first night of the championship with a ninth-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay. The team of 
Aden Li, 
Jonathan Wang, 
Avery Clapp and 
Jay Heymann shaved 2.37 seconds off its prelim time to win the consolation final in 3:13.34. The quartet's time is the second fastest in program history and Li broke his own freshman record with his lead-off leg of 48.25 in the 100 Back.
 
JHU has produced an All-America team in the 400 Medley Relay in each of the last 13 NCAA Championships. Clapp earns All-America honors for the 13
th time in his career, while Heymann picks up his fifth. Li and Wang garner All-America honors for the first time.
 
The NCAA Championships continue on Thursday, March 20 with the prelim of the 400 IM.
