NEW ORLEANS – Johns Hopkins men's track and field athlete,
Emmanuel Leblond, earned top honors after being named the Mid-Atlantic Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), with
Bobby Van Allen and
Cullen Doody also receiving the Mid-Atlantic Men's Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year awards.
Leblond received the regional honor after becoming just the third male athlete in NCAA Division III history to go sub-14 (13:54.45) in the 5000-meter and sub-8 (7:57.85) in the 3000-meter. The Mountain View, CA native was also the national runner-up in the 5000-meter at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship.
Van Allen, in his 26
th year as Head Coach at Johns Hopkins, led the Blue Jays to a program-best eighth-place team finish at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, earning five All-America honors capped by the national champion distance medley relay team. Hopkins also won its 12
th straight Centennial Conference title, winning three individual events.
Doody, in his first year as assistant coach at Hopkins, coached the Blue Jays' distance medley relay team to a national championship in the event at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. His athletes include Leblond, national runner-up in the 5000-meter, and the Blue Jay distance runners who scored 86 points in helping Hopkins win the Centennial Conference Championship.
