MANHEIM, PA – The Johns Hopkins wrestling team has placed two athletes on the 2025 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Scholar All-America Team it was recently announced. Junior
Kadin Khalloufi and sophomore
Freddy Pimental both grabbed a spot on the team and their selection boosts Johns Hopkins' total number of NWCA Scholar All-Americans to 77 since 1984. Khalloufi and Pimental are both making their first appearance on the team.

The criteria for individual NWCA Scholar All-America honors is as follows:

WRESTLINGÂ - Must accomplish at least one of the following two:
- Place in top eight in the regional tournamentÂ
- Wrestle at least 15 matches and have a win percentage greater than 66%.

ACADEMICSÂ - Must accomplish at least one of the following two:
- Must have an average GPA of 3.2 over the last 2 semesters or quarters or last 3 trimesters
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2

Khalloufi is majoring in neuroscience and computer science and carries a 3.97 cumulative grade point average. He posted a 14-4 record during the 2024-25 season with 11 of his 14 wins earning bonus points with five pins, four technical falls and three major decisions while competing primarily at 174 pounds.

Pimental, who is majoring in molecular & cellular biology and carries a 3.98 cumulative GPA, rang up a 29-13 record this season to boost his career record to 49-27. His 29 wins led the team and he counted nine pins, six technical falls and six major decisions among his 29 victories on the year.  Pimental placed fourth at the Centennial Conference Championships and Elizabethtown's Blue Jay Classic and added a fifth-place showing at the Shenandoah Invitational. In his career, he has 17 pins, 10 technical falls and nine major decisions to his credit.
