SELINSGROVE, PA – The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team opened competition Thursday at the River Hawk Multi, hosted by Susquehanna University, with a strong showing across the board.
Claudia Ouimet leads all competitors after day one with 2,713 points.
Jaclyn Donoho currently sits in eighth with 2,480 points, followed by
Abigail Lovelace in 10
th (2,385 points) and
Julia Widen in 13
th (1,397 points).
Ouimet posted three second-place finishes, including the 200m dash (26.95), shot put (11.54m) and 100m hurdles (15.32). Her personal-best time of 15.32 in the 100H breaks her own Johns Hopkins freshman record and now ranks as the fifth-fastest mark in program history.
Donoho also etched her name into the Blue Jays record book, tying for the fifth-highest mark in school history with a 1.60m high jump—good for second place in the event. Lovelace contributed two additional top-10 finishes, placing sixth in the shot put (9.83m) and seventh in the high jump (1.54m).
The Blue Jays are back in action tomorrow Friday, April 10, for day two of the River Hawk Multi with action scheduled to begin at noon in the heptathlon's long jump.
