BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team kicked off the first day of the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational in dominant fashion on Friday, highlighted by another record-setting performance from
Erika Ezumba.
For the third consecutive week, Ezumba shattered her own school record in the hammer throw, this time launching a personal-best mark of 49.73m. Her effort earned her a first-place finish and currently ranks 36
th in Division III this season.
The Blue Jays added two more top-10 finishes in the event, with
Phoebe Williams taking third with a 44.17m throw and Hillary Gallito placing ninth behind a personal-best 35.05m mark.
The Blue Jays are back in action Saturday, April 19, for the conclusion of the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational, with action scheduled to begin at 10 AM in the 5000m.
