Alan Zheng has been named the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Division III Men's Foil Athlete of the Year it was announced Tuesday afternoon.
Zheng caps one of the most decorated careers in program history, earning his second straight National Foil Athlete of the Year honor. He earned USFCA All-America honors four times, including first team accolades in each of the last three years. Zheng also made back-to-back trips to the NCAA Championships, finishing in 16
th place in 2025 and 14
th in 2024.
Zheng led the Blue Jay Foil squad in wins in each of his four seasons and led the overall team in wins in 2023 and 2024. He broke the school record for career Foil wins at the NCAA Championships and finished his career with a record of 341-190 (.642). He went 344-193 (.640) overall in his career, which ranks second among all weapons in Johns Hopkins history.
Zheng led Johns Hopkins to three straight MACFA Championships as well as three straight Foil squad championships. Individually, he won his second MACFA Foil title in 2025 to become the first Foilist in JHU history with multiple title since Bryan Bishé won three straight from 2002-2004.
