BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins has earned a trio of top-10 rankings heading into the 2026 season. JHU is ranked eighth in the IWLCA Coaches Poll, ninth in the Inside Lacrosse KANE Media Poll and 10
th in the USA Lacrosse Poll presented by CWENCH Hydration.
This is the second straight year the Blue Jays are ranked in the top-10 in both the IWLCA and USA Lacrosse preseason polls. It is the first time JHU is ranked in the top-10 in the Inside Lacrosse preseason poll since 2007.
Hopkins went 13-7 last season and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the third straight year. JHU finished in a three-way tie for third in the Big Ten and dropped a one-goal heartbreaker to Northwestern in the B1G Semifinals. The Blue Jays earned the number eight seed in the NCAA Tournament and hosted the first two rounds for the first time since the program moved to Division I in 1999.
The Blue Jays return four players who earned All-America honors a year ago, including consensus First Team All-American
Reagan O'Brien. Also returning are
Ava Angello,
Lacey Downey and
Laurel Gonzalez. The quartet were named preseason All-Americans by USA Lacrosse. In addition, O'Brien (12
th), Angello (27
th) and Downey (38
th) are all ranked in IL's Top-50 for 2026.
Hopkins opens the season on Saturday, February 7 at Liberty. Opening draw is scheduled for 12:00 pm at Liberty Lacrosse Field.
