Hopkins Ranked Fourth (AFCA), Third (D3football.com) in Final National Polls

Blue Jays Went 12-2, Advanced to NCAA Semifinals for Second Straight Year

BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins football team checked in at number four in the final American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) top 25 and third in the D3football.com Poll as both organizations recently released their final national rankings for the recently-completed 2025 season.

The Blue Jays totaled 1,100 points in the AFCA Poll of 51 voters to grab the number four ranking in that poll.  Wisconsin-River Falls, which won its first national championship this season, grabbed all 51 first-place votes and amassed 1,275 points to grab the top spot in the poll.  North Central, which finished as the national runner-up, totaled 1,224 points to rank second, while John Carroll (1,118 points), Johns Hopkins and Bethel (1,081) rounded out the top five in the final AFCA Poll.

The number four ranking marks the eighth time that Johns Hopkins has finished a season ranked in the top 10 in the AFCA Poll; all eight instances have come since 2009.  The Blue Jays' top final ranking came in 2024 (3rd) and this year's number four ranking ranks as the second-best season-ending ranking for JHU in the AFCA Poll.

In the D3football.com Poll, the Blue Jays earned 573 points to earn their number three ranking.  Again, it was national champion Wisconsin-River Falls topping the poll with all 25 first-place votes and 625 points, while North Central (598 points), Johns Hopkins, Bethel (544) and John Carroll (523) closed out the top five.

This is the fourth time Johns Hopkins has finished a season ranked in the top 10 by D3football.com; the 2018 team finished the season ranked fifth after making a run to the NCAA Semifinals, while the Blue Jays have since added top-10 finishes in 2023 (8th), 2024 (3rd) and 2025 (3rd).

Johns Hopkins matched the school record for wins in a season in 2025 (12) and made its third appearance in the NCAA Semifinals, including its second straight under head coach Dan Wodicka.  Johns Hopkins and North Central are the only two teams in the nation that have advanced to at least the NCAA Quarterfinals in each of the last three seasons.
