Johns Hopkins Announces 26th Class of Hall of Fame Inductees

Class to be Honored on April 17 During Homecoming Weekend

BALTIMORE, MD -- Johns Hopkins University will induct the 26th class of inductees into its Athletic Hall of Fame in ceremonies scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026 it was announced today. The 12-member class raises the total number of members in the Johns Hopkins Athletic Hall of Fame to 216 since the first class was inducted in 1994.  Four individuals will be deferring their official induction until the next class of inductees is honored in 2028
 
The group will be honored at induction ceremonies scheduled to take place at 6 pm in the Bloomberg Student Center on the Johns Hopkins campus.  Festivities will include a cocktail reception and the induction ceremony with an informal post-induction reception; the class will also be honored at the Johns Hopkins-Maryland men's lacrosse game at Homewood Field on Saturday, April 18.
 
Ticket information and other event-specific details will be announced in the near future.
 
Below is a look at the 12 individuals who comprise the 2026 Johns Hopkins Athletic Hall of Fame class of inductees:
 
Paul Bewak | Class of 2015
Wrestling

•       Earned All-America honors three times (freshman, sophomore, senior) - all other wrestlers in school history have combined to earn All-America honors a total of six times.
•       Placed seventh at the NCAA Championships as a freshman and junior and third as a senior.
•       Third-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Championships is the second best in school history.
•       Holds Johns Hopkins career record for victories (135) – previous record was 98, a mark Bewak surpassed prior to the start of his final season.
•       Holds three of the top seven single-season victory totals in school history (34, 36, 35) and won 30 matches in another season.
•       Only wrestler in program history with 30+ wins in each of four seasons.
•       Three-time Centennial Conference champion at 125 pounds (missed the tournament with an injury as a junior).
•       Ranks second in school history in career bonus-point wins (55).
•       2014 NCAA East Regional Champion.
•       Named to 2015 NWCA Scholar All-America Team.
•       Helped Johns Hopkins to its first-ever Centennial Conference team title as a freshman.
George Bugarinovic | Class of 2015 (Deferring Induction Until 2028)
Men's Basketball

•       2015 Jostens Trophy winner (given to the outstanding NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball players who excels on the floor, in the classroom and in the community).
•       Four-time All-Centennial Conference selection, including a first team honoree in 2015.
•       2015 CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American.
•       Three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District.
•       Two-time Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
•       2015 NABC and D3hoops.com All-Region.
•       As a co-captain, helped lead Johns Hopkins to a 25-5 record, the NCAA Sweet 16 Sixteen and the Centennial Conference regular season title as a senior.
•       Finished career ranked in the top 10 in school history in 13 statistical career categories.
•       Only player in program history to rank in the top 10 in points (1,331), rebounds (751), steals (124) and blocks (100).
•       NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient.
•       Recipient of the $24,000 Walter Byers Scholarship in 2017.  This scholarship is presented to just one male and one female student-athlete across all divisions each year.
Taylor D'Amore | Class of 2014
Women's Lacrosse

•     Two-time team captain and a four-year starter.
•     2013 IWLCA Second Team All-American & Tewaaraton Nominee.
•    Three-time IWLCA All-Region and three-time All-American Lacrosse Conference selection.
•    The first player in Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse program history to earn an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
•    Held the school record for career draw controls (240), draws in a season (74) and assists in a game (8) when she graduated.
•    Ranks second in school Division I history in career points (303) and assists (161), sixth in goals (142) and 17th in caused turnovers (44).
•    Had at least one point in 58 straight games, the second longest streak in the program's Division I history and had at least one assist in each of her last 28 games, a school Division I record
•    Led the team in points in each of the last three seasons and led the team in assists and draws in each of her four seasons.
•    Led the nation in assists (2.65) and points (5.25) per game as a senior.
•    As a junior, ranked 5th in the nation in assists (2.88), 10th in points (4.59) as a junior and was 14th in the nation in assists (2.22), 18th in draws (4.11) and 29th in points (4.06) as a sophomore.
•    Member of the 2012-2014 US Women's National Team. 
Ann Girvin | Class of 1996
Women's Swimming

•    Four-year member of the women's swimming team (1993-96) and team captain as a senior in 1995-96.
•    Led Johns Hopkins to four top 10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, including a then program-best finish of seventh in 1994.
•    Guided Johns Hopkins to the 1994 UAA Championship and runner-up finishes in 1993, 1995 and 1996.
•    Became just the second Johns Hopkins women's swimmer to earn an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
•    1996 recipient of the Catherine P. Cramer Award as Johns Hopkins' top female senior athlete.
•    Remains the program record-holder for most All-America finishes at the NCAA Championships with 27 (28 is the maximum).
•    Among her 27 All-America finishes were seven in individual events and 20 as part of a relay team.
•    Remains the only three-time First Team All-American in the 100 Fly in program history.
•    Earned First Team All-America honors 14 times, including a runner-up finish in the 100 Fly in 1995.
•    Thirteen-time UAA Champion, with five individual titles and eight relay title.
•    Program record-holder with 27 all-conference selections and tied for third in program history with 13 conference titles. 
Armand Jenifer | Class of 2014 (Deferring Induction Until 2028)
Football

•    Most decorated offensive lineman in school history and among the most decorated players at any position.
•    Started the final 41 games of his career at tackle after taking over early in his freshman year (2010).
•    Two-time AFCA All-American.  Became the first player in program history to twice earn this honor.
•    First Team Associated Press All-American and Second Team D3football.com All-America as a senior.
•    Three-time First Team All-Centennial Conference selection.
•    Anchored an offensive line that led the way for a unit that averaged 40.5 points and 500.6 yards per game in 2013; both of those marks were – at the time - school single-season records.
•    Johns Hopkins averaged more than 260 yards rushing (260.9) and 230 yards passing (239.7) in the same season for the first time in school history in 2013.
•    Johns Hopkins averaged more than 35 points per game in each of his four seasons and averaged more than 485 yards per game in each of his last three years.
•    Helped Johns Hopkins to a four-year record of 38-7, four Centennial Conference titles, three trips to the NCAA Playoffs and one ECAC title.
Hannah Kronick | Class of 2015 (Deferring Induction Until 2028)
Women's Soccer

•    Finished career as school and Centennial Conference career scoring leader with 82 goals, 36 assists and 200 points.
•    Three-time Centennial Conference Player of the Year.
•    First player in Centennial history to be a four-time first team all-conference selection.
•    Three-time NSCAA Division III All-American and a two-time D3Soccer.com Second Team All-American
•    Two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American.
•    Two-time NSCAA Scholar All-American.
•    Three-time All-Mid-Atlantic Region team member.
•    Led the Centennial Conference in goals and points three times.
•    Led Johns Hopkins to the Final Four as a senior – first trip to Final Four in school history.
•    JHU also won two Centennial Conference titles during her career, made four appearances in the NCAA Tournament and had two appearances in the NCAA Quarterfinals to go along with run to Final Four in 2014.
•    Helped lead JHU to a four-year record of 79-12-2, including a 37-2-1 mark in Centennial Conference play and an 11-4-1 record in the NCAA Tournament. 
Ernie Larossa
Associate AD/Director of Athletic Communications

•    Joined the Johns Hopkins staff on September 2, 1997 and is currently the longest-tenured staff member in the Department of Athletics and Recreation.  Promoted to Associate Director of Athletics in 2002.
•    During his tenure, his office has grown from one full-time staff member and one intern to four full-time staff members who provide comprehensive communications coverage for Johns Hopkins' 24 varsity athletic programs and more than 650 student-athletes.
•    Johns Hopkins teams, athletes and coaches have been featured by local, regional and national media throughout his tenure.  He has overseen the development and growth of the official website of Hopkins Athletics (hopkinssports.com), the department's presence on social media and a video streaming initiative that includes more than 180 game broadcasts per year.
•    Has helped promote 12 NCAA Championship teams, more than 225 conference championship teams, 41 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipients and more than 275 Academic All-Americans.
•    Helped spearhead Johns Hopkins' agreement with ESPN in 2006.  Agreement provides multi-media coverage of all Blue Jay regular season men's lacrosse home games and select women's home games on ESPN's family of networks.
•    Johns Hopkins has hosted numerous NCAA, Big Ten and Centennial Conference Championships during Larossa's 29-year career at Homewood. He was a member of the Executive Committee of Lax4Baltimore, the local organizing committee for the 2003, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2014 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships in Baltimore.
•    Presented with the Irving T. Marsh Award from ECAC-SIDA in 2011.  The award is presented to an organization member who has exhibited excellence in the field of sports information.
•    The 2024 recipient of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Doyle Smith Sports Information/Media Award. 
David Maldow | Class of 2010
Men's Tennis

•    Posted a record of 80-25 (.762) in singles, playing all but three career matches at the number one spot. Finished his career with a 68-34 (.667) record in doubles.  Went 26-2 in singles and 25-2 in doubles in regular season Centennial Conference matches.
•    Graduated as the program's all-time wins leader in singles, doubles and total wins (148). Still holds the record for total wins and ranks second in singles and sixth in doubles.
•    Became the first player in program history with 50 career singles wins and 50 career doubles wins.
•    Led Johns Hopkins to a 71-19 (.788) overall record and 35-0 (1.000) mark in the Centennial Conference. JHU won four straight CC titles and made four trips to the NCAA Tournament, including three NCAA Sweet 16 appearances.
•    Led JHU to a then program record 19 wins in 2007 and the program's first-ever 20-win season in 2010 (21-6).
•    Two-time Centennial Conference Player of the Year, the first JHU player to earn the honor. Seven-time First Team All-CC selection (four in singles, three in doubles).
•    Five-time ITA All-American (four in singles, one in doubles). The program's first-ever All-American in singles and doubles (with Andrew Wang). The first player, along with Wang, to earn All-America honors in singles and doubles in the same season (2009).
•    Named ITA Atlantic South Rookie of the Year in 2007 and Senior Player of the Year in 2010.
•    Ranked as high as ninth nationally in singles and doubles with Andrew Wang. He is the first player in program history to be ranked in the top 10 in singles and he and Wang were the first doubles team to be ranked in the top 10.
•    Became the first player selected to the NCAA Singles Championship four times and remains one of just two to do so. Also selected to the NCAA Doubles Championship twice (2009, 2010).
•    Won the 2008 ITA Southeast Regional Doubles Championship, with Andrew Wang. Also finished as the runner-up in singles in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
Sean McCreery | Class of 2008
Water Polo

•    Standout on the water polo team 2004-2007.
•    Three-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) National Player of the Year (2005, 2006, 2007) - the only player in Division III history to earn National Player of the Year honors three times.
•    Three-time First Team ACWPC All-American. Just the seventh player in JHU history to earn All-America honors three times and one of just two to earn first team honors three times.
•    Ranks fourth in JHU history with 310 goals. Also ranks 10th in school history in career points (310) (assists not available until after he graduated). Is one of only four players, and the last, to score 300+ goals.
•    Boasts three of the top eight single-season goal totals in program history (93, 90, 82).
•    Led Johns Hopkins to a 73-53 (.579) record, including a then program-record 24 wins in 2005, playing against predominantly Division I opponents. The 24-win season was the first 20-win season in program history and remains the second most wins ever. Helped JHU to three straight CWPA Division III Eastern Championships.
•    Three-time CWPA All-South selection, including first team honors in 2005 and 2007. One of just three players in program history to earn All-South honors three or more times. Three-time CWPA Division III Eastern All-Tournament Team selection and named Tournament MVP in 2006.
•    Led Johns Hopkins to its first number one national ranking in 2005. JHU was ranked number one in the nation 10 times between 2005 and 2007 and finished the 2005 season ranked number one in the nation. 
Annie Monagle | Class of 2014
Women's Cross Country & Track

Cross Country
•    Helped lead Johns Hopkins to the 2012 and 2013 NCAA Championships.  These were the first two of JHU's national-record eight national championships in women's cross country and the first two NCAA titles by any women's team at Johns Hopkins.
•    Two-time All-American with a 32nd-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Championships and a 14th-place finish in 2013.
•    Two-time All-Mideast Region honoree with 11th and fifth place finishes and two-time First Team All-Centennial Conference with fourth and sixth-place showings.

Track
•    Earned All-America honors in indoor and outdoor track.
•    Placed third in the Mile and member of sixth-place DMR team at 2013 NCAA Indoor Track Championships to earn All-America honors in both events.
•    Placed third in the Mile and fourth in the 1500 at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track Championships to earn All-America honors in both events.
•    Earned 11 medals at the Centennial Conference Indoor and Outdoor Track Championships with five gold, three silver and three bronze.
•    Set program records in the indoor 1,000 (2:55.95) and Mile (4:49.64) and the outdoor 1500 (4:22.95).
•    Member of three school-record relay teams in the indoor (11:40.86) and outdoor (11:48.05) DMR and the outdoor 4x800 (8:58.61). 
Bill Nolan | Class of 1974
Men's Lacrosse & Football

Men's Lacrosse
•    Member of 1974 NCAA Championship team – Johns Hopkins' first NCAA title in men's lacrosse.
•    Helped Johns Hopkins to the 1972 and 1973 NCAA Championships games.
•    Started in every game at either attack or midfield during his career.
•    Played when freshmen weren't eligible so only played three seasons of varsity lacrosse.
•    Second Team USILA All-American as an attackman (sophomore) and honorable mention USILA All-American as a senior (midfield).
•    Totaled 71 goals and 25 assists for 96 points in his career with a career-high 32 goals and nine assists as a sophomore attackman.  •    Split time between attack and midfield as a junior and then played almost exclusively midfielder as a senior.

Football
•    Played defensive back and wide receiver.
•    Totaled 83 receptions for 1,285 yards and 16 TDs as a receiver.
•    Was fourth in school history in receptions, second in receiving yards and first in TD receptions when he graduated.
•    Had a then school-record 49 receptions for 683 yards as a senior.
•    JHU career record-holder in kickoff return yards (706) and second in punt return yards (398) when he graduated.
•    Two-time First Team All-Middle Atlantic Conference selection as a wide receiver. 
Brian Youchak | Class of 2010 (Deferring Induction Until 2028)
Baseball

•    2010 ABCA National Player of the Year and a First Team All-American that year as well.
•    First Team ABCA All-American and First Team All-Region in 2008.
•    Earned All-America honors at two different positions as he played outfield in 2008 and second base in 2010.
•    Two-time First Team ABCA All-Region (2008, 2010).•       Three-time All-Centennial selection with first team honors in 2009 and 2010 and second team honors in 2008.
•    Graduated as Johns Hopkins' career leader in batting average (.461), hits (259), runs scored (196) and total bases (412), tied for first in doubles (53) and ranked second in RBIs (166) and third in home runs (30) when he graduated.
•    Hit .440 or better in each of last three seasons (.467 / .440 / .492).  Only player in school history to hit better than .460 twice and only player to hit better than .400 three times.
•    Still holds Johns Hopkins' single-season records for hits (98) and runs scored (76).
•    Only player in school history with 85+ hits in more than one season
•    Helped Johns Hopkins to the NCAA Tournament each year from 2007-10 with trips to the Division III World Series in 2008 and 2010 and appearances in the NCAA Regional final in 2007 and 2009.  The 2008 team finished as the national runner-up.
