LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins kicked off its first conference championship meet since 2016 with a gold and silver Thursday at the Centennial Conference Championships. The Blue Jays are in second place with 88 points through the first two events.
Jaya Veerapaneni,
Reese Rosenthal,
Ken Lee and
Anna Miler led off the championships with a close win the 200 Medley Relay. The team finished in 1:42.84 to grab the win by 0.23 seconds. It is the Blue Jays' first conference title in the event since 2014. Their time is an NCAA B time and the 10
th fastest in program history.
Hopkins then placed second in the 800 Free Relay as Lee,
Alex Watson,
Melissa Er and
Julia Tuinman finished in 7:33.06, an NCAA B time. In addition, the team of
Claire Han,
Elizabeth Cohen,
Carly White and
Stella Zhang won the B Final in 7:40.43.
The championships continue Friday, February 20 with the prelims of the 500 Free at 10:00 am. The finals are scheduled for a 6:00 pm start.
