LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins senior
Jacob Harris has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week following an out-of-this-world performance over the second week of the 2026 baseball season, announced Tuesday. The honor marks the first of Harris' career and makes him the second Blue Jay to earn weekly recognition this season.
Harris powered the Blue Jays to a 4-0 week with wins over No. 15 Messiah, Cairn and a pair of victories against Hamilton College. The second baseman went 9-for-16 (.563) over the four-game stretch, posting an absurd 2.025 OPS. He launched four home runs — including two grand slams — added a double, drove in 12 runs, scored 11 times, drew three walks and stole a base. Harris recorded a multi-hit performance in all four games.
Against Messiah, he broke the game open with a three-run homer to cap an eight-run first inning. Against Cairn, he smashed a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first. In back-to-back games against Hamilton, the senior delivered grand slams in each contest, putting both games out of reach and halting any comeback attempts.
Through seven games, Harris shares the team-lead with four home runs, while posting the second-most RBIs (14).
Johns Hopkins returns to action Tuesday, March 3, hosting Penn College at Babb Field at Stromberg Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
