BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's indoor track and field team wrapped up competition Saturday at the AARTFC Indoor Championships at The Armory and the Tufts Final Qualifier, posting several of the fastest marks in the nation this season and in program history.
At the AARTFC Indoor Championships in New York,
Diana Valentini highlighted the Blue Jays' performances with a strong showing in the 800 meters. Valentini ran a personal-best 2:12.70 to place fifth, a time that ranks 23
rd in Division III this season and fourth in program history.
Lorna Arcese also recorded a top-10 finish in the event, placing eighth with a time of 2:16.07.
Lianne Saussy led a trio of Blue Jays competing in the 400-meter dash. Saussy clocked a personal-best 58.19 to finish 10
th, a mark that ranks 101
st nationally this season and fourth in program history.
Gabrielle Moore followed in 16
th with a time of 58.69, while
Madison Moore finished 27
th in 1:00.05.
Mirra Klimov rounded out action at The Armory with a ninth-place finish in the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 7.88.
At the Tufts Final Qualifier,
Carter Brotherton was the lone Blue Jay competing and delivered an impressive performance in the 5,000 meters. Brotherton ran a personal-best 16:56.93 to finish first, a time that ranks 18
th in Division III this season and eighth in program history.
Johns Hopkins will now await the NCAA selection announcement on Sunday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. to determine which student-athletes have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, set to take place March 13-14 in Birmingham, Alabama.
