BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Duke Invitational, Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic and Gallaudet Bison Classic on Saturday, recording 17 top-10 finishes while posting several marks that rank among the best in program history and across Division III this season.
At the Duke Invitational, Hopkins' relay squads highlighted the final day of competition. The 4x100-meter relay team of
Mirra Klimov,
Chloe Zhang,
Ellie Lewis and
Dominique Thomas clocked a 46.74 to place 13
th. The mark ranks sixth in Division III this season and set a new school record.
In the 4x400-meter relay,
Gabrielle Moore,
Lianne Saussy,
Madison Moore and
Lorna Arcese recorded the Blue Jays' lone top-10 finish in Durham, placing eighth with a time of 3:48.42. That performance stands as the second-fastest in program history.
Individually,
Gabrielle Moore posted a personal-best 1:05.18 in the 400-meter hurdles, ranking eighth in school history and 54
th nationally this season. In the field events,
Phoebe Williams recorded a personal-best throw of 11.88 meters in the shot put, the ninth-best mark in program history.
At the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic,
Sydney Shock led six Blue Jays who placed in the top 15 of their respective events. Shock finished fourth in the steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:43.38, which ranks fourth in program history and currently leads the nation this season.
Adriana Catalano and
Ani Wedemeyer both posted standout performances in the 1,500-meter run. Catalano placed fourth with a personal-best 4:25.14, the third-fastest time in school history and second-fastest in Division III this season. Wedemeyer finished 13
th in 4:28.32, a personal best that ranks sixth in program history and 11
th nationally.
In distance events,
Carter Brotherton placed eighth in the 5,000-meter invitational with a personal-best 16:28.57. Her time ranks second in program history, third nationally this season and 29
th in Division III history.
Natalie Boquist added a 12
th-place finish in the 10,000-meter invitational, clocking 35:37.29—the seventh-fastest mark in school history and eighth nationally.
Ia Reistad rounded out competition in Lewisburg with a sixth-place finish in the unseeded 5,000-meter run, posting a time of 17:50.65.
At the Gallaudet Bison Classic, Hopkins recorded 16 top-10 finishes, highlighted by
Claudia Ouimet and
Jaclyn Donoho, who shared the high jump title with matching clearances of 1.50 meters.
Ouimet added three more top-10 finishes, placing second in the long jump (5.46m), third in the 100-meter hurdles (14.95) and fifth in the javelin (29.79m). Her long jump ranks eighth in program history and 33
rd nationally this season, while her hurdles time ranks 35
th nationally.
Donoho also recorded three additional top-10 finishes, placing fourth in the javelin (30.52m), fifth in the long jump (4.89m) and ninth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.27).
Julia Widen contributed three top-10 performances as well, finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best 1:07.96, 10
th in the 100-meter hurdles (17.07) and sixth in the long jump (4.74m).
Evelyne Kim added two top-10 finishes, placing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.44) and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.10).
In the pole vault,
Clarissa Newman and
Sarah Soto both recorded top-10 finishes. Newman cleared 3.65 meters to place second, while Soto finished sixth with a clearance of 2.90 meters. Newman's mark ranks 22
nd nationally this season.
Hanna Bruno rounded out the Blue Jays' top performances in Washington, D.C., placing ninth in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 1:00.28.
Hopkins returns to action on Friday, April 17, as the Blue Jays split across three meets: the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, NC; the Morgan State Legacy in Baltimore; and the Paul Donahue Invitational, hosted by Widener.
