LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins sophomore
Michael Yousef has been named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced Tuesday. This marks the first weekly honor of Yousef's career and he becomes the fourth Blue Jay to be recognized this season.
Yousef earned the distinction following a dominant performance on the mound that propelled Hopkins to a 6-5 victory over McDaniel. In 5.2 innings of work, the right-hander surrendered just one earned run on six hits while racking up a career-high 10 strikeouts. Most impressively, Yousef did not issue a single walk throughout the outing, securing his fifth win of the 2026 campaign.
The sophomore has been a cornerstone of the Blue Jays' staff this season, appearing in nine games with two starts. Through 28.0 innings, Yousef maintains a perfect 5-0 record with one save and a stellar 2.25 ERA. He has struck out 26 batters on the year while allowing only five free passes.
Hopkins returns to the diamond later today, Tuesday, April 14, to open a home-and-home series against Dickinson. First pitch in Carlisle is set for 3:30 p.m.
