LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins junior
Oluwademilade Adeniran and the women's 4x100-meter relay team have been named the Centennial Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week following record-setting performances at the Gallaudet Bison Classic and the Duke Invitational. The honor marks the first conference recognition of the season for all five student-athletes.
Adeniran highlighted Hopkins' performances at the Gallaudet Bison Classic, breaking his own school record in the triple jump. Adeniran won the event with a leap of 14.75 meters, which ranks sixth in Division III this season, extends his program record and ranks second in Centennial Conference history.
Competing against elite competition at the Duke Invitational, the quartet of
Mirra Klimov,
Chloe Zhang,
Ellie Lewis and
Dominique Thomas set new conference and school records. The quartet crossed the finish line in 46.74 seconds, dismantling a two-year-old conference record (46.96) previously held by Dickinson. Their performance currently stands as the seventh-fastest time in the nation and established a new Hopkins record.
Hopkins returns to action on Friday, April 17, when the Blue Jays split their squad between the Virginia Classic in Charlottesville, VA, the Paul Donahue Invitational in Chester, PA, hosted by Widener and the Morgan State Legacy in Baltimore.
