CHESTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins women's track & field team made the most of its final regular-season opportunity to post qualifying marks for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Monday at the Widener Final Qualifier. The Blue Jays turned in a series of standout performances as they continued their push toward the national meet.
Hopkins' middle-distance group led the way in the 1,500 meters, where four Blue Jays strengthened their cases for NCAA qualification.
Mackenzie Setton paced the effort with a runner-up finish in a personal-best 4:24.86. Her time ranks third in program history and currently sits fifth in Division III this season.
Ani Wedemeyer followed with a fourth-place finish in a personal-best 4:26.45. The mark set a Johns Hopkins freshman record, ranks fifth all-time in program history and currently stands 10
th nationally this season.
Diana Valentini added a fifth-place showing in a personal-best 4:27.86, the sixth-fastest time in school history and the 16
th-fastest mark in Division III this year.
Emma Kothari rounded out the strong showing with a seventh-place finish in 4:28.42, good for the 19
th-fastest time nationally this season.
The Blue Jays were equally impressive in the steeplechase.
Sydney Shock captured first place in a personal-best 10:33.19, breaking the school record and moving to fifth in Division III this season.
Cooper Brotherton placed third in a personal-best 10:35.61, recording the second-fastest time in program history while climbing to 10
th nationally.
Eleni Alvarez also delivered a personal-best performance, clocking a 10:42.24 to move into sixth in school history and 17
th in the national rankings.
Lorna Arcese strengthened her national standing in the 800 meters with a sixth-place finish and personal-best time of 2:09.26. The mark ranks fourth in program history and sixth in Division III this season.
Lianne Saussy closed out the evening with a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a personal-best 1:00.92. Her time ranks second in school history and currently sits 10
th nationally this season.
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, May 13, at the AARTFC Championships, hosted by Ursinus College, for its final tune-up before the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
