Five Blue Jays Named to IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Team

BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins placed five players on the 2026 IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Team it was announced Thursday afternoon. Ava Angello, Lacey Downey, Taylor Hoss and Reagan O'Brien were named to the First Team and Hannah Johnson were named to the second team.

Hopkins' five selections are tied for the most in school Division I history and tied for second most all-time. In addition, the four first team selections are the most since 1997. JHU has now produced 13 IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic under fourth-year head coach Tim McCormack

Angello earns all-region honors for the third time in her career after earning second team honors in each of the last two years. She leads the team and ranks fifth in the nation in goals (78) and ninth in points (106). Angello is just the third 70-goal scorer in program history, and first in school Division I history. In addition, she became the first player with a 100-point season since Taylor D'Amore in 2014.

Downey grabs her first career IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic honor after previously being named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year. She ranks second on the team and 10th in the nation in points with 103. She is also second on the team and leads all midfielders in the nation in assists (46). On the other end of the field, Downey is fifth nationally in ground balls (70) and 12th in caused turnovers (49). She eclipsed the 100-point mark in Thursday's win over Stony Brook.

Hoss earns all-region honors for the first time and was named Second Team All-Big Ten earlier this season. She is 12th in the nation in assists with a program-record 57. She also ranks 13th nationally in points (102) and is third on the team in goals (45). Hoss has tallied at least four points in a game 15 times this season and joined Angello and Downey in the 100-point season club in yesterday's win.

O'Brien repeats as a First Team All-Mid-Atlantic selection. The NCAA record holder with 249 career caused turnovers, she leads the nation with 83 this season. That is the second most in NCAA history. O'Brien also ranks fifth in the nation with 70 ground balls and is fourth among all active players in Division I with 193 career ground balls.

Johnson picks up her first career all-region honor after earning Second Team All-Big Ten accolades in April. She is third on the team with a career-high 30 caused turnovers and fifth with 31 ground balls. She ranks ninth in school history in caused turnovers with 85 and is also 22nd with 106 ground balls.
