Johns Hopkins To Send Nineteen to NCAA Outdoor Championships

BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins will send 16 individuals and a relay team to the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, WI May 21-23. The Blue Jay contingent will compete in 11 events as JHU seeks its third podium finish in the last seven seasons.

Hopkins' bid for a national championship begins with Claudia Ouimet in the Heptathlon at 11:40 am on Thursday. She posted the third best point total in the nation this season. It will be a busy day on the track for the Blue Jays, beginning at 5:35 pm with Mackenzie Setton, Adriana Catalano, Ani Wedemeyer and Diana Valentini in the 1500m. Catalano and Wedemeyer were honored by the Centennial Conference as Track Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively, just eight days ago. Setton, Catalano and Wedemeyer each boast top 10 times in the event. A little over 30 minutes later, Lianne Saussy, who boasts the 10th best time, will compete in the 400m Hurdles.

Sydney Shock, Cooper Brotherton and Eleni Alvarez follow at 7:10 pm in the 3000m Steeplechase. Shock posted the fifth best time while Brotherton turned in the 10th fastest. Thursday's action will conclude with Natalie Boquist in the 10000m at 8:30 pm.

Friday kicks off with 2026 Centennial Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, Erika Ezumba in the Shot Put at 2:00 pm. Two hours later, Mirra Klimov, Chloe Zhang, Ellie Lewis and Dominique Thomas will look to bring home the national title in the 4x100m Relay, as the team has the fastest time in the nation. Just 20 minutes after that, a quartet of Blue Jays – Lorna Arcese, Wedemeyer Emma Kothari and Setton will race in the 800m. Ouimet will then wrap up the Heptathlon with the 800m at 4:50 pm. Friday concludes with Thomas racing in the 100m at 6:20 pm. She boasts the eighth best time in the nation.

Saturday will begin with Ezumba and Phoebe Williams in the Hammer at 12:00 pm. Ezumba earned All-America honors at last year's championship and has the second-best throw in the nation. Carter Brotherton and Catalano will then wrap up the Jays' events with the 5000m at 5:00 pm. Brotherton, who earned All-America honors at the last two NCAA Championships, ran the seventh best time in the nation this season. Catalano is coming off an All-America finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships this past March.
