LA CROSSE, WI – The Johns Hopkins women's outdoor track & field team opened competition Thursday at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium, hosted by the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.
Sophomore
Claudia Ouimet highlighted the day for the Blue Jays in the heptathlon, putting herself in position to make program history. Through four events, Ouimet sits atop the standings with 3,094 points as she looks to become the first NCAA heptathlon national champion in Johns Hopkins history.
Ouimet's strongest performance came in the shot put, where she recorded a personal-best throw of 12.54 meters to finish second in the event. The mark also ranks fourth all-time in program history. She later added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.55 and cleared a personal-best 1.56 meters in the high jump.
Hopkins also advanced two runners to Saturday's 1,500-meter final, as
Mackenzie Setton and
Adriana Catalano each secured qualifying spots. Setton automatically advanced with a time of 4:25.43, while Catalano claimed the 12
th and final qualifying position after crossing in 4:27.76. The duo will look to become the first national champion in the event in program history.
The Blue Jays return to action Friday, May 22, for the second day of competition at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
