Johns Hopkins Places Four on IWLCA All-America Team

BALTIMORE, MD – Ava Angello, Lacey Downey and Reagan O'Brien were named to the 2026 IWLCA All-America First Team it was announced Thursday afternoon. In addition, Taylor Hoss was named to the second team. The Blue Jays three first team selections are tied for the most in the nation.
 
Hopkins has now produced seven IWLCA All-Americans in four seasons under head coach Tim McCormack and 21 since the program moved to Division I in 1999. The four IWLCA All-Americans are the most since 1994 and the three first team selections are an all-time program record.
 
O'Brien is the first Blue Jay to repeat as a First Team IWLCA All-American since Mary Key in 2006-07 and is just the fifth in program history to do accomplish the feat. The NCAA's all-time leader in caused turnovers with 249, she leads the nation with 83 and 4.37 per game. Her 83 takeaways this season are second most in NCAA history and are 20 shy of her own NCAA record. O'Brien is tied for fourth in the nation with 70 ground balls, two shy of the school record.
 
Angello earns IWLCA All-America honors for the first time in her career. She owns both the school single-season (78) and career (236) goal-scoring records, breaking both marks in Johns Hopkins' win NCAA Quarterfinal win over Stony Brook. She ranks fourth in the nation in goals and is seventh in points with 106. Angello also owns the school records for hat tricks in a season (15) and career (47) and ranks second in JHU history in points (317).
 
Downey is named an IWLCA All-American for the first time in her career. A two-way midfielder, she ranks ninth in the nation with 103 points. She owns both the JHU single season (46) and career (76) records for assists by a midfielder. Downey is tied for 17th in the NCAA, and leads all midfielders, in assists this season. She is also tied for fourth nationally with 70 ground balls, second most in school history. She is also tied for 11th in caused turnovers with 49.
 
Hoss also earns her first career IWLCA All-America honor. She ranks in the top 10 in the nation in points (102) and assists (57), while also ranking 10th in the Big Ten in goals (45). She broke the 19-year-old school single-season record for assists in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Hoss also tied the JHU records for assists (6) and points (9) in an NCAA Tournament game versus Stony Brook. She now ranks seventh all-time in Johns Hopkins history with 92 career assists.
