Merritt Davis joined the Blue Jay Field Hockey coaching staff in 2017 after a stand-out four-year career at Dickinson College. 

The Blue Jay field hockey program has had a remarkable run in the last seven seasons and have become a national title contender. After having losing records in three of the previous four seasons, Hopkins has gone 133-22 with six Centennial Conference (CC) regular season titles, five CC Tournament titles and five NCAA Semifinals appearances. The Hopkins coaching staff earned NFHCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. In addition, the staff earned Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2023

Davis, who's twin sister Austin played four years for the Hopkins Field Hockey team, was a four-year starter for the Red Devils. She led Dickinson to a four-year record of 47-26 with three Centennial Conference playoff appearances. Davis twice earned First Team All-Centennial and First Team NFHCA All-Region honors. In addition, she became the program's first All-American when she earned Third Team honors from both the NFHCA and Synapse Sports in 2015.

A Baltimore native, Davis attended nearby Garrison Forest before graduating from Dickinson College in 2017 with a degree in International Business & Management with minors in Art History and Economics. In addition to supporting the Blue Jays, Davis also works for a Private Equity firm in Mount Vernon.
