First Day at Johns Hopkins:  March 25, 2025

In her first year as an assistant coach at Johns Hopkins is Caitlin Churney, who joins head coach Bayleigh Braswell's staff after concluding her playing career at nearby Loyola Maryland in 2024.

Churney, who played at Loyola during Braswell's tenure as an assistant coach with the Greyhounds, played in 82 matches and 279 sets during her career.  She collected more than 500 kills (505) as a middle blocker and added 173 blocks.  She punched up a career-high 185 kills and added 47 blocks as a graduate student in 2024 and had 152 kills and a career-high 67 blocks as a senior in 2023.  Churney served as a team captain during his time at Loyola and helped the team to the Patriot League Semifinals as junior.

Churney graduated from Loyola with a degree and dual certifications in elementary and special education and is currently pursuing a master's in curriculum and instruction for social justice.
