LEXINGTON, VA - Ryan Kim won a pair of events and Johns Hopkins picked up eight first-place finishes in 14 events as the Blue Jays knocked off host Washington & Lee, 146-115, in men's swimming action Saturday morning. The Blue Jays improve to 6-5 on the year with the victory.
Kim won both the 200 back (1:52.81) and the 200 IM (1:59.03) and was also a member of Hopkins' first-place 200 medley relay team. Tyler Harris and Brad Test both joined Kim on the victorious 200 medley relay team and also won individual events as Harris placed first in the 200 breast (2:12.80), while Test clocked in at 47.72 to win the 100 free. Brian Sneed joined Kim, Harris and Test on the 200 medley relay team.
Freshman Colin Kleinguetl jump-started JHU's individual winners as his victory in the 1000 free (9:58.16) came in the first individual event of the day. Other winners for the Blue Jays included Keith Parent in the 200 fly (1:58.79) and Zane Hamilton in the 100 breast (1:00.13). Hopkins claimed the top two finishers in four events to help secure the victory.
The Blue Jays will close the dual-meet portion of their 2005-06 schedule next Saturday when they travel to Ohio to take on perennial power Kenyon.
