SWARTHMORE, PA -- The top-seeded Swarthmore women's tennis team won all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches to cruise past Johns Hopkins, 8-1, in the Centennial Conference Semifinals. The Garnet move on to Sunday's Championship match, where they will face Washington College. Johns Hopkins ends the season with a 13-5 record.
After winning all three doubles matches to take a quick 3-0 lead, the Garnet won all but the number two singles match to move on. Sonya Reynolds led the way with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Brittany Matava at first singles and Swarthmore won the number three, four, five and six matches in straight sets as well.
Johns Hopkins got its lone point of the match at second singles, where Tayna Gulnik picked up a 2-6, 6-3, 11-9 win over Jennie Park. Gulnik ends the season with a team-best 16-2 singles record.
