North-South Duals Complete Results

COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- In its first action after the holiday break, the Johns Hopkins wrestling team split four matches at the prestigious North-South Duals at Ursinus on Saturday. The Blue Jays defeated Trinity of Connecticut (34-16) and West Chester (30-13), but fell to Cortland (36-7) and York (37-0). Cortland is currently ranked 14th in the nation, while the Spartans are ranked 28th. The Blue Jays' dual-meet record now stands at 2-3.

In the win over Trinity, the Blue Jays jumped out to a 15-0 lead on the strength of a first-period pin by freshman Michael Testa at 133. The pin was Testa's team-best seventh of the year. William Selba (165) added a major decision at 165 and Adam Stevens (125) and Eric Levenseller (165) added decisions.

Selba added his second pin of the season in the win over West Chester, while Stevens, Levenseller, senior Tyler Schmidt and sophomore Robbie Nedbor-Gross added decisions to fuel the victory.

Against Cortland, the Blue Jays got on the board at 141 when sophomore Rocky Barilla picked up a 3-2 win over Joe Moran and freshman Hector Cintron added his team-best sixth major decision with a win over George Dobrovosky at 184, but the Red Dragons displayed their mettle with one pin, two technical falls and three decisions..

Johns Hopkins will return to action next Saturday back at Ursinus when the Blue Jays participate in the Bears' Homecoming Invitational.
