BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins junior center Ed Rodger (Glen Ridge, NJ/St. Peter's Prep) has been named an Honorable Mention All-American by d3football.com. Rodger is the first center in school history to earn All-America honors and just the third offensive lineman to do so. He joins Matt Weeks (2003) and David Perna (1999) as JHU's only offensive linemen to grab All-America honors.

In a program that has produced nine All-Centennial Conference selections at center since 1998, Rodger has established himself as perhaps the best in school history. He adds his All-America selection to an already impressive list of honors that includes a nod as a First Team d3football.com All-South Region pick and a First Team All-Centennial selection this season. He previously earned Second Team All-Centennial honors as a sophomore in 2009.

Rodger has started 23 games since the start of the 2009 season and anchored an offensive line this season that paved the way for an offense that averaged 35.8 points and a school-record 442.5 yards per game. The Blue Jays allowed just 11 sacks in 404 pass attempts this season and set a school record by scoring 394 points.

Rodger is the 13th different Johns Hopkins player to earn All-America honors since 1980 with the 13 players combining to earn 23 All-America citations from five different organizations.

Under the guidance of head coach Jim Margraff, Johns Hopkins posted an 8-3 record in 2010. The Blue Jays earned a share of the Centennial Conference title and defeated Lebanon Valley, 44-14, in the ECAC South Atlantic Bowl. The Centennial title is the sixth for Johns Hopkins since 2002, while the ECAC Championship is the fourth for the Blue Jays since 2002.
