Wodicka Named to d3football.com Team of the Week

Oct. 20, 2011

BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins sophomore wide receiver Dan Wodicka (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette) has been named to the d3football.com Team of the Week for his efforts in last Friday's 47-6 victory over Dickinson. He is the second Johns Hopkins player to earn a spot on the team this season as senior Hewitt Tomlin was selected after JHU's 45-14 win over Merchant Marine in the season-opener.

Wodicka enjoyed one of the finest games of his career against the Red Devils as he totaled 11 receptions for 202 yards and added four punt returns for 44 yards for a total of 246 all-purpose yards. The 11 receptions tied his career-high, while the 202 receiving yards and 246 all-purpose yards are career highs. The 202 receiving yards also rank as the sixth-highest total in school history.

With his efforts in the win against Dickinson, Wodicka now leads the team in receptions (39), receiving yards (653) and all-purpose yards (725). He ranks second in the Centennial Conference in receiving yards per game (108.8), third in receptions per game (6.5) and seventh in all-purpose yards per game (120.8).

With Wodicka leading the way, the Blue Jays are currently 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the Centennial Conference. Johns Hopkins is ranked 14th in this week's AFCA Poll, 18th by d3football.com and sixth in the Lambert Cup Poll.

The Blue Jays (6-0, 5-0 CC) will carry an 11-game winning streak into Saturday's game at Gettysburg (4-2, 4-1). The winning streak is tied for the longest in school history and ranks as the second-longest active streak in Division III football and the third longest in all divisions. This is the third 11-game winning streak in school history.
