CARLISLE, PA - Host Dickinson scored with less than two minutes to play in regulation to tie the game and then scored with nearly 13 minutes gone in overtime to defeat Johns Hopkins, 4-3, in Centennial Conference field hockey action Wednesday afternoon. The Red Devils improve to 7-8 overall and 2-6 in the conference and earn their first win over JHU since 2004.
Hopkins took an early 1-0 lead when sophomore Alexa Lantiere scored just 8:07 in off an assist from senior Sam Stuek. Less than three minutes later, Caroline Karwel tied the game with a penalty stroke goal. Senior Meghan Kellett pushed the Blue Jays back on top at 25:37 when she put home the rebound off a shot by Lantiere. The lead stood for more than 20 minutes before Dickinson tied it up. Senior Liane Tellier inserted the corner and the ball ended up back on her stick as she buried a pass from freshman Elena Gresick with 12:23 to play to make it a 3-2 game. But the Red Devils weren't going away and Stillwell tied the game again when she scored while lying on the ground with just 1:50 to play to force overtime.
